09 May Hey, Grrrrrumpy…..
Once upon a time, around 1996, I unhooked from my REALITY as I had known it my whole life and headed out on a HEIJIRA to discover myself. I landed in SEDONA, ARIZONA and CAMPED in the RED ROCKS, POWERFUL VORTICES and DESERT VALLEYS. With my new friend, JAMES EDDY aka MERLYN, we moved about with our VANS and set up camp in some of the most GORGEOUS NATURAL SPACES! Along side BUBBLING SPRINGS, nestled into GROVES of DESERT TREES in VERDE VALLEY, or tucked into some RED ROCK CREVICE away from the TOURISTS. Back then you could still find places to CAMP for FREE.
One day I was struggling with some kind of HORMONAL IMBALANCE. I had what they called PMS in those days. I wasn’t very happy that day. I am unsure if I had started studying PLANT SPIRIT MEDICINE yet. I stomped out of camp and headed out along a sandy trail that lead through some SCRUBBY BUSHES. The stringent pine-like smell in the air surrounding me. It was HOT. I was HOT and SWEATY….
As I stomped past a BUSH, I heard, “Hey GRRRRUMPY…. come eat one of my FLOWERS. It will make you feeeel beddar.” The RRRRRR was rolled like SPANISH…. I was so surprised, I went over to see who was talking. It was a MESQUITE BUSH and she had some WHITE FLOWERS, little and BELL like with a SLIGHT ROSE SMELL. I agreed and tasted one. It was very good. We talked a little and I did feel better and thanked her.
I noticed that she had 2 colors of WOOD spiraling round each other, some brownish and some gray. She said it was LIFE and DEATH woven together… They did intertwind around each other. That is all I can remember now, nearly 26 years later. That was near the beginning of my ADVENTURES with PLANT SPIRIT MEDICINE…. and they continue to this day.
