The BIG OLD WATER MAPLE TREE to the SOUTHEAST side of our new home was one of my first TREE FRIENDS when I moved from GardenSong Hawaii to GardenSong Tennessee. He is the one with the RED LEAVES. I was I was lost in the vast MOWED LAWNS with a few TREES surrounding our new home and I missed my TROPICAL FLOWERS very much. It was late fall 2011 and still some warm days. I was feeling lonely and missing my friends and community so I would take my blanket, journal and myself out and lean against his trunk and soak in the SUN.

Since I am pretty open he began talking to me right away. He was one of the first NATURE BEINGS to befriend me . He has a very KIND NATURE and is happy to help me release anything that isn’t feeling good and energize and nourish me when I need it. I asked him what I could call him and he said, THE BEAST. I was a bit surprised until he showed me his first face…
2011-11-15-Tree Friend-The Beast
He is the first TREE FRIEND to give me a PHYSICAL GIFT. The first spring I was upstairs in my sewing room with a window looking right out into his branches and he called to me, saying he had a gift for me. I went to the window and looked down and there were the FIRST YELLOW DAFFODILS nestled between his ROOT TOES Just for me!

He is very OLD and WISE and loves me dearly. Since we met he has lost 2 huge middle branches, one of them should have fallen on our power line. The Electric company crew that came to clean it up was amazed that somehow that he managed to stop it short.
When you agree to host a GARDENSONG PROJECT, you will notice you begin to get certain ideas, very specific things to do. Request from your OVERSEEING ELEMENTALS and NATURE BEINGS to do things that will HEAL and STRENGTHEN the FLOW OF ENERGY through your GARDENS. One such idea was to build an OROBORUS BERM surrounding BEASTY… with an ARCHED ENTRANCE… We used cut LOGS and STONES to define the oval, as we have an endless supply of wood and stone here in MIDDLE TN. I created the first ARCH with young willowy saplings and branches from our HEDGEROW full of LAGUSTRUM, very invasive species that grows fast and spreads far…. We have to PRUNE it back heavily every year.
Later I found out the GARDEN FAIRIES had moved in there and call it FAIRY LAND. We built a STONE ALTAR to anchor in the NEW MASCULINE ENERGY and later were guided to built a grid to anchor in some needed nourishment for MOTHER EARTH from the FIRST GREAT CENTRAL SUN…
Occasionally when I have been working particularly intensely in the GARDENS, when I am near him, he will say, “Why don’t you come and sit with me and let me help you feel better?” He can do that. Trees know how.
I now call him BEASTY and have learned much from the many conversations we have had over the years. We just passed our 12th year of our HUMAN-TREE friendship.
