I am going to take you on a little STORY TOUR of GARDENSONG2 Tennessee. Is it late WINTER or preSpring here.? I tend to lean toward preSpring. The photos were taken Feb. 4th, 2018.

Tour of FRONT AREA of GardenSong2

Let’s start LEFT to RIGHT… We would be standing at the BRIDGE that crosses BAILEY BRANCH, then to the left you are on CEMETERY ROAD and there is HUMMINGBIRD HOUSE. Back to the main road, let’s walk along our very OLD STONE WALL that runs along half the frontage. I planted lots of the famous Tennessee Blue Iris and Day Lilies all along it last year. This is WAGONER HILL ROAD in front. My MAILBOX sits at the end of the STONE WALL nearer to OUR HOUSE that is called PENGUIN-ROOSTER HOUSE.

Now back to CEMETERY ROAD, that actually goes to BOONEVILLE CEMETERY, there is a big WHITE BUILDING called CARRIAGE HOUSE. It is left of our HOUSE and is JACK’s OFFICE, RUSSIAN LIBRARY and CREATIVE STUDIO. Jack Matlock is Handy Hugh’s Father.

Our GREENHOUSE sits right next to the Carriage House. It is really more of a HOT HOUSE… It works pretty good to WINTER over all my FLOWERS in POTS. This year one of the radiant heaters went out and I lost many of them. There are still plenty waiting for their turn to escape out into the SUNSHINE!

Now look for the ARCH sticking up over the STONE FENCE. It leads into the LOVING MOTHER GARDEN. I was redoing it today with CPVC to make it sturdier, instead of wood because it was all wonky… I plan on planting BLUE MORNING GLORIES on it this year.

Jack’s CACTUS GARDEN is near CEMETERY ROAD in-between the STONE WALL and CARRIAGE HOUSE.

DRAGONHENGE is in that same area, as is the BLACKBERRY PATCH, which I want to move, and the GIANT COSMOS GARDEN is right there also.

On the right side of the LOVIN’MOTHER ARCH is the TALL THINGS GARDEN behind the BELVES of BOONEVILLE GARDEN and GOLDIE’s GARDEN. GOLDIE is the tallest TREE BEING near CARRIAGE HOUSE.

The PAN GARDEN is at the front side end of the GREENHOUSE. So is the GREENHOUSE FROG POND and MARIGOLD ALLEY.

GREENHOUSE GARDEN runs along the side of the GREENHOUSE.

Moving back to our MAILBOX,  RANDY REDBUD TREE is right there surrounded by the BLUE OCEAN GARDEN.

To the right and looking kind of roundish, lined with STONE BEINGS is TURTLE ISLAND GARDEN.

Then you see 2 BIG TREES there on the left side of the HOUSE. The one in the front is PEARTAL, a WINTER PEAR TREE and my lovely friend. The one closest to the HOUSE is CALLIE, a MAPLE who hosts the GODDESS GARDEN at her feet facing the house. I feed the BIRDS in-between them.

They are both growing in the GNOME GROVE that stretches from the sidewalk over to the left into the area behind TURTLE ISLAND.

In the open grassy area between the HOUSE and GREENHOUSE and BLUE OCEAN GARDEN are some small GARDENS, MAMA SHARON’s GARDEN, HEART GARDEN and ANCESTORS GARDEN closer to the House.

Along the side of the HOUSE is the GOJI ARCH and FAIRY GARDEN. Next to that is BUTTERFLY HAVEN, and MARY’S GARDEN. MARY’s FAIRY CIRCLE is on the cement slab at the SIDE DOOR. I will have to take a pano of each side, too.

Now back to the front. Right there at the front sidewalk is the WELCOME GARDEN, one on each side, with LITTLE DIPPER sitting there to welcome YOU. I usually fill them with MARIGOLDS and ZINNIAS. DUTCH IRIS will be the first to pop up there.

Walking down the sidewalk toward the house, on the right is the BLUE MEDICINE BUDDHA GARDEN. It is fenced. That is where my CHICORY and PARSLEY has survived the WINTER by me covering it with a dark blue COMFORTER that NELL, Handy Hugh’s sister, gave me. It had BITE HOLES in it and it has served well to keep those PLANTS WARM and COMFEY and ALIVE all WINTER. I use a little each morning for my GREEN DRINK. We completely cleaned out the BUDDHA GARDEN and tilled leaves into it for WINTERING.

On the other side, toward the HOUSE, is ASSISI GARDEN. Right off the FLOWER PORCH and next to the steps and sidewalk is PASTEL PAINTBOX GARDEN. Farther to the left is ROSEMARY’s GARDEN. You can see her right at the far right porch corner. Right there off the right end of the porch is the LOTUS POND. A BLUEBIRD HOUSE is hanging on the corner of the HOUSE. We had a family of BLUEBIRDS one year.

Next you see the BIG TREE BEING at the right side of the HOUSE and that is THE BEAST encircled with the OROBORUS BERM, I just built a new arch at the head and tail so it connected. That is where all the DAFFODILS are blooming. Running along the WHITE FENCE to the first little spriggy looking INDIGO BUSH near the fence is one of the GIANT COSMOS FORESTS.

From about half way on is the LIONSGATE GARDEN and PORTAL.

There are two little CIRCULAR GARDENS between BUDDHA GARDEN and LIONSGATE, one is LILY’s GARDEN and one is FIRST LOVE JOY GARDEN.

Now up front again, the TREE BEING is MARY REDBUD, twinsy with RANDY REDBUD. Is a CIRCLE around her is her SHADE MIX GARDEN. I really haven’t named that one properly yet.

Oh yes, right in a little crook between the WELCOME GARDEN on the right side and the BUDDHA GARDEN is the DAHLIA GARDEN.

There are more GARDENS in the back. You can see all the way to the end of the WHITE FENCE? Well right over the OROBORUS BERM is ROSA ROGOSA ROW, then BACK o BEYOND GARDEN with a TOAD POND. Then a fenced GARDEN called CABBAGE PATCH, where an ELDERBERRY GROVE is starting up.

The rest I will have to take a backside pano and give you the tour then.

Back to the larger pano, the CHURCH of CHRIST is on the far right of our House. They own the land on each side of their church. The BIG TREE BEING, you can see down the road, is the only TREE they left when they bought the land on the right of them. They are making it all into a parking lot… as Joni Mitchell sings…

The RED you see is our neighbor’s BARN. Then almost at the end of the road is a bridge that crosses MULBERRY CREEK. That is where I see a BLUE HERON once in awhile.

The GOLDEN HILLS you see at the end of the road is where you turn onto BOONEVILLE Highway. If we go left it takes us to LYNCHBERG and TULLAHOMA or we can go to FLAT CREEK and on to SHELBYVILLE and MURFREESBORO, where Handy Hugh is going to COLLEGE. Keep going and you will get to the famous COUNTRY MUSIC CITY of NASHVILLE.

If we go right it goes to FAYETTEVILLE and on the HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA.

Now come on back to MULBERRY CREEK and follow the road back. All along the right side of the road is BAILEY BRANCH. At the end of the bushy TREES is BOONEVILLE CHURCH ROAD, our COMMUNITY CENTER, a METHODIST CHURCH and the driveway to the LIBRARY HOUSE. Come on back to the water puddle and we are almost back home.

The TREE BEINGS, sticking out into the right top corner, are GRANDFATHER TREE, TWIN PORTALS TREES and MOTHER TREE.

HANDY HUGH and his twin sister, NELL, have planted many BUSHES and TREES along BAILEY BRANCH that are HOSTS for certain BUTTERFLIES. Including some INDIGO, STAGHORN, NINEBARK, and some WILLOWS.

We also planted some INDIGO BUSHES on either side of MARY REDBUD and in the LIONSGATE GARDEN.

Our NEW GARDEN SHED

By the way, I forgot to mention that our new GARDEN SHED will sit nestled into the PRIVET HEDGE that you can see on the left side of the HOUSE all the way to the back. Between the HOUSE and the CAR, in that area.

Earlier today I talked to a man about buying a SHED, He happens to have one in the same colors as all the other buildings, white with a silver metal roof. We are wondering if they can bring it into that area. He said that he is coming to play music SAT at the BOONEVILLE COMMUNITY CENTER. It is a potluck where you have to eat and talk fast with your neighbors because promptly at 7 the MUSICIANS start gathering on stage, setting up and they PLAY LOUD until 9. No talking possible while that BLUE GRASS COUNTRY MUSIC is ROCKIN’.

I found it INTERESTING… once or twice… just not my choice of music. I might go SAT because PETE wants to go and Jimmy, the SHED GUY will be playin’ his BANJO.

You can see the LIBRARY HOUSE from the Community Center.

Oh yes, and all the way to the LEFT and across the BRIDGE on the opposite side of the road is our OLD VICTORIAN ANCESTRAL BOONE HOUSE. They call it the MAIN HOUSE and it is where Handy Hugh’s parents live. A BIG ORCHARD runs between that house and across the street from us all the way to the LIBRARY HOUSE HABITAT. The POLLINATOR HABITAT runs along behind the LIBRARY HOUSE, the MAIN HOUSE ORCHARD and all the way behind MOMSY’s HOUSE which is the next house up WAGONER HILL ROAD next to the MAIN HOUSE GARAGE.

It’s been fun taking you on a tour.  I hope your IMAGINATION could fill in the details. I hope to post photos of all the different GARDENS someday. Thanks for joining me.
